Within our Advanced Program you will develop your core goalkeeping skills through our European and American experts who currently work with elite goalkeepers on a daily basis. These fundamental skills are practices that are embedded worldwide will stay with you for the rest of your playing career which will be reinforced within every training session you do away from the our GK Academy experience. Along with developing technique and tactical awareness you will also experience how to develop your training capacity as a goalkeeper. This is not just a training workout but a goalkeeping educational development that will allow you to continue and progress these practices within your goalkeeping life. This camp could will be the fundamental key to your playing success or the first step in your goalkeeping coaching career.
We will provide you with dynamic sessions that build personal confidence, produce better playing performance and help you to better understand your role as a keeper. Our academy philosophy centers on a solid foundation of support and constant monitoring so each player becomes a fundamentally sound goalkeeper to have more confidence in their or his game.
Our professional goalkeeping staff will introduce players to four major aspects of our goalkeeping curriculum. Coaching will cover the technical, tactical, physiological and psychological approaches to this specialized position. Keepers will learn how to play their position better and be coached at what their responsibilities are in defending and attacking soccer match situations.
The goalkeeper academy training sessions consist of instruction in positional play on defending wing and central attacks; communicating with players in attack and defense; pass back rule; initiating the attack; establishing match tempo; ball distribution; goal kicks; punts; body shape; closing down 1 vs. 1 situations; diving laterally; footwork; deflections; boxing; shot stopping; stopping penalty kicks; foot saves; catching low and high balls; catching attacking crosses; controlling the six yard box on corners; organizing defense on free kicks and corners, sweeper/keeper tactics and much more.
In addition to individualized daily training, keepers play in small-sided games when possible and evening tournament matches, enabling them to apply what they have been working on in training sessions.
